Steven Katleman, veteran entertainment and media attorney and founder of Katleman Media Law, provides legal, business and strategic counsel in connection with the creation, production, exploitation and monetization of content and related rights across entertainment, sports, branding, marketing and promotional platforms.

Over more than three decades of practice, Steve has represented companies, individuals, producers, brands, talent, executives and other industry participants in sophisticated matters across television, films, digital content, branded entertainment initiatives, endorsement and sponsorship transactions, sports and live-event ventures, and international media projects across traditional and emerging distribution platforms and business models. His practice also encompasses technology-enabled media platforms, emerging distribution models and new monetization opportunities across rapidly changing entertainment and media ecosystems.

He advises U.S. and international clients on complex business and strategic initiatives, including the structuring and implementation of business models in the United States, with sensitivity to the legal, commercial and cultural considerations affecting foreign companies entering the U.S. market. He also advises U.S. entities that enter international markets on similar matters.
Often acting as outside general counsel, his broad industry perspective and practical business orientation allow him to structure and negotiate matters involving interconnected strategic, operational, financial, production, creative and rights-related considerations.

After more than 21 years as a shareholder at a major international law firm, Steve established Katleman Media Law to provide sophisticated counsel, judgment and client service through a more agile and efficient boutique structure aligned with the changes transforming the entertainment, sports and media industries.
